ve a
preschool child and you have noticed that your child is not developing skil=
ls
such as walking, talking or playing like other young children, you may want=
 to
talk to your family doctor. He or she may be able to reassure you that chil=
dren
develop at different rates and your child is within normal developmental
scales. If, however, the doctor is concerned, or you are still not comforta=
ble
with your child's progress, you may wish to make a referral to the district=
's
Committee on Preschool Education. The Committee on Preschool Special Educat=
ion
(CPSE), appointed by the Board of Education, is responsible for arranging
evaluations and making recommendations for delivery of service to children =
ages
3 to 5 who have disabilities. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
