Pilot Program at South Seneca

FoodLink of Rochester and South Seneca Elementary staff will join together to give 30 backpacks of food to 30 students to take home each Friday during the school year.  With the ongoing economic turndown, many households are finding more and more difficult to provide healthy, nutritional meals for their families.  This program will assist families with insufficient resources in obtaining food to meet their household’s basic needs.  Participation in the program is strictly confidential.  Those selected to receive the backpacks will be identified by Elementary School staff after consideration of their family’s economic circumstances.   A child’s nutritional health is one of the key’s to quality learning.
