South Seneca's Elementary Students Read!!!!
Students from the elementary Kicked
off summer reading by coming together as a school
community on the front lawn to read books.
All students are encouraged to participate in the 2008
Summer Reading Challenge sponsored by Assemblyman Brian
Kolb. Students keep track of their reading for July and
August. They can then return their calendars to school
or directly to the assemblyman’s office. Students who
have 40 or more days on the calendar will receive a New
York State Assembly Excellence in Reading Certificate.
Students who receive the certificate will also earn a
free book from the school.

SOUTH SENECA CELEBRATES READING!
Students who
read for fifteen minutes each day over the summer and
turned in their completed Brian Kolb Summer Reading
Challenge pamphlet, participated in a pizza party with
the visiting author and illustrator, Daniel Kirk on
Friday, October 24th.
Way to go, readers! These readers sported the new
“Find the Adventure in Books” t-shirts that made the
school a very colorful place in celebration of reading!
Each grade level received a different colored
t-shirt. They will be worn on field trips to ease
identification of South Seneca students and on special
reading event days throughout the year!
