in the Meadow

Over in the meadow in the water and the
sun,
Lived an old mother fish and her little
fish one
“Swim,” said the mother. “I swim said the
one.”
And they swam and were happy in the water
and the sun.
Over in the meadow in the wind that blew,
Lived an old mother fly and her little
flies two
“Buzz,” said the mother. “We buzz said the
two.”
And they buzzed and were happy in the wind
that blew.
Over in the meadow with the birds and the
bees,
Lived an old mother tiger and her little
tigers three.
“Growl,” said the mother. “We growl said the three.”
And they growled and were happy with the
birds and the bees.
Over in the meadow by an old country door,
Lived an old mother fox and her little
foxes four.
“Run,” said the mother. “We run said the four.”
And they ran and were happy by the old
country door.
Over in the meadow in by an old beehive,
Lived an old mother elephant and her little
elephants five.
“Splash,” said the mother. “We splash said the five.”
And they splashed and were happy by an old
beehive.
Over in the meadow by a house made of
sticks.
Lived an old mother cat and her little
kittens six.
“Purr,” said the mother. “We purr said the six.”
And they purred and were happy in a house
made of sticks.
Over in the meadow by the sky of Heaven,
Lived an old mother skunk and her little
skunks seven.
“Play,” said the mother. “We play said the seven.”
And they played and were happy by the sky
of Heaven.
Over in the meadow in an old white gate,
Lived an old mother snake and her little
snakes eight.
“Slither,” said the mother. “We slither said the eight.”
And they slithered and were happy in an old
white gate.
Over in the meadow by an old clothes line,
Lived an old mother mouse and her little
mice nine.
“Squeak,” said the mother. “We squeak said the nine.”
And they squeaked and were happy by an old
clothes line.
Over in the meadow in an old chicken pen,
Lived an old mother porcupine and her
little porcupines ten.
“Laugh,” said the mother. “We laugh said the ten.”
And they laughed and were happy in an old
chicken pen.
