Over in the Meadow

Over in the meadow in the water and the sun,

Lived an old mother monkey and her little monkey one

“Play,” said the mother. “I play said the one.”

And they played and were happy in the water and the sun.

 

Over in the meadow where the cows do moo,

Lived an old mother bear and her little bears two

“Hunt,” said the mother. “We hunt said the two.”

And they hunted and were happy where the cows do moo.

 

Over in the meadow where I like to be,

Lived an old mother bird and her little birds three.

“Sing,” said the mother.  “We sing said the three.”

And they sang and were happy where I like to be.

 

Over in the meadow by an old wooden door,

Lived an old mother spider and her little spiders four.

“Spin,” said the mother.  “We spin said the four.”

And they spun and were happy by the old wooden door.

 

Over in the meadow by the old beehive,

Lived an old mother tiger and her little tigers five.

“Run,” said the mother.  “We run said the five.”

And they ran and were happy by the old beehive.

 

Over in the meadow by a bridge made of sticks.

Lived an old mother lion and her little lions six.

“Roar,” said the mother.  “We roar said the six.”

And they roared and were happy by a bridge made of sticks.

 

Over in the meadow by a turtle of Heaven,

Lived an old mother snake and her little snakes seven.

“Slither,” said the mother.  “We slither said the seven.”

And they slithered and were happy by a turtle of Heaven.

 

 

Over in the meadow in an old wooden gate,

Lived an old mother raccoon and her little raccoons eight.

“Eat,” said the mother.  “We eat said the eight.”

And they ate and were happy in an old wooden gate.

 

Over in the meadow where the flowers are really fine,

Lived an old mother bee and her little bees nine.

“Buzz,” said the mother.  “We buzz said the nine.”

And they buzzed and were happy where the flowers are really fine.

 

Over in the meadow in an old fox den,

Lived an old mother bunny and her little bunnies ten.

“Hop,” said the mother.  “We hop said the ten.”

And they hopped and were happy in an old fox den.
