Over in the Meadow

Over in the meadow where the bunnies have fun,

Lived an old mother spider and her little spider one

“Spin,” said the mother. “I spin said the one.”

And they spun and were happy where the bunnies have fun.

 

Over in the meadow where the water is blue,

Lived an old mother fish and her little fishes two

“Swim,” said the mother. “We swim said the two.”

And they swam and were happy where the water is blue.

 

Over in the meadow by the old honeybee,

Lived an old mother fox and her little foxes three.

“Sniff,” said the mother.  “We sniff said the three.”

And they sniffed and were happy by the old honeybee.

 

Over in the meadow by an old apple core,

Lived an old mother turtle and her little turtles four.

“Nibble,” said the mother.  “We nibble said the four.”

And they nibbled and were happy by an old apple core.

 

Over in the meadow in the honeybee hive,

Lived an old mother bee and her little bees five.

“Hum,” said the mother.  “We hum said the five.”

And they hummed and were happy in the honeybee hive.

 

 

 

Over in the meadow where the butterflies mix.

Lived an old mother parrot and her little parrots six.

“Talk,” said the mother.  “We talk said the six.”

And they talked and were happy where the butterflies mix.

 

Over in the meadow the angel of Heaven,

Lived an old mother elephant and her little elephants seven.

“Stretch” said the mother.  “We stretch said the seven.”

And they stretched and were happy by the angel of Heaven.

 

Over in the meadow where the sloths are late,

Lived an old mother giraffe and her little giraffes eight.

“Walk,” said the mother.  “We walk said the eight.”

And they walked and were happy where the sloths are late.

 

Over in the meadow where the flowers are fine,

Lived an old mother dog and her little dogs nine.

“Bark,” said the mother.  “We bark said the nine.”

And they barked and were happy where the flowers are fine.

 

Over in the meadow by the yellow mommy hen,

Lived an old mother lizard and her little lizards ten.

“Slither,” said the mother.  “We slither said the ten.”

And they slithered and were happy by the yellow mommy hen.
