Online Databases available for South Seneca Elementary School (updated 11/26/06)

These databases have been purchased for you to use.  The funding sources vary from your local school funds to the New York State Library.  NOVEL is a statewide virtual library provided free to the public by the New York State Library.  It is currently a pilot project funded through a Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant to the NY State Library by the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).

All databases are accessible from school or from home.  Usernames and Passwords are for the use of South Seneca staff and students only.  Please do not share them with others from outside our district, as that could result in higher prices for all.

Free Lisa Bartle is a reference librarian at California State University, San Bernardino. Database of Award-Winning Children's Literature

"The purpose of this database is to create a tailored reading list of quality children's literature or to find out if a book has won one of the indexed awards. I expect the user to be a librarian or a teacher intervening for a child-reader, however anyone may make use of it to find the best in children's literature including parents, book store personnel, and children and young adults themselves."  [quoted from the website]
