Welcome to the 2nd semester!! When you read this we will have begun a new semester. Some students will have new teachers, new courses and a new opportunity to learn and grow. I hope that our students are ready to take on the exciting changes and challenges that accompany a new beginning. One of the most important events in the winter of each school year is the course selection process. Everyone except our current seniors is beginning the process of selecting their courses for next year. Please know that the course selection process should not be done in isolation. Students should seek the advice of their current teachers, counselor, respected peers and influential adults including their parents! Our course selection guide is available on our school website by going to the school website, selecting high school, academics, and then course guide. When selecting courses, I believe that our students should seek courses that challenge them and can be beneficial to their future endeavors. Please spend some time with your son or daughter discussing the courses. If you have a specific question that is not answered in the course guide please contact Mr. Anderson (ext. 4101), a teacher or myself. We are here to help and support our students. Suggestions for a new semester…

• Attendance is HUGE!! We cannot help your child if they are not here on a regular basis.
• Keep the communication line open with your child’s teachers. Our staff is here for you and your child. We want to work with you and want to know how we can better serve you and your child.
• Check your child’s planner to see if they are staying organized and turning in work.
• Contact a teacher if you have questions or concerns. E-mail addresses are listed on the high school website in the left hand column.
• The parent handbook is also located on the high school website (under policies).
• Reinforce the expectations that we have here at South Seneca High School.
• Rest, nutrition, support!
