Library Guidelines

The Library is open from 7:30-3:00. Except on Tuesdays the library closes at 2:15.

- Please work quietly
- Ask for help as needed
- Be respectful to library materials and others
- Books on reserve cannot be checked out
- Students coming to the library from a classroom must sign in
- Students must have a signed and dated pass to go to the LMC
- Students cannot leave the library to return to the classroom or to go to any other area in the building without permission from the library staff
- No more than four students to a table
- When reading a magazine or newspaper, students are asked to put the magazines and newspapers back neatly and in order
- Students must sign out the computer they plan to use
- Students are discouraged from bringing backpacks in the library
- Cell phones and other internet connected devices that are not provided by SSCSD are strictly prohibited in the library
- When printing from the computer, please do a “print preview” to see how many pages you are printing. Plan to print only the pages you need
- Books can be checked out for 3 weeks. Students may renew as needed, unless otherwise stated
- Each computer should have only one student user at a time
- Interlibrary loan is available to students. Please see the library staff for information on this service

As stated in the student’s handbook, it is a privilege for students to be in the library. Students found not following rules will be asked to leave and not return for a minimum of 2 weeks. Further action may be taken as determined by each circumstance.
